Good morrow and welcome back to our Thursday three series. We’ve now reached the Universal parks in my favourite rides countdown and it’s really starting to get tricky to narrow down my lists.
The parks are full of amazing attractions and experiences so it’s difficult to choose just three. I was originally going to cover the whole of Universal in one post but when I tried, it just proved too tough without constantly changing my mind. So, I decided to do both parks separately and I’m starting with to my three best rides at Islands of Adventure.
As we are getting closer and closer to our next trip, the sheer excitement I get just talking about these rides – and the realisation that we’ll be experiencing them again in a few weeks – is giving such a wonderful feeling. Oh, and if you want to find out which rides I didn’t love so much, check out my Universal Orlando Hits and Misses post.
So, let the adventure begin.
My 3 best rides at Islands of Adventure
#1 Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey
Ahhhh, I love everything about this ride and it’s my current top attraction in the world. I’m anticipating that Flight of Passage will run it close, but for now, this holds the top spot and it’s very easy to see why.
I’m trying to not give way any spoilers on my best rides series by keeping it to just sharing my feelings and after this one, I was on cloud nine. I can understand why some people get bad motion sickness after they’ve experienced this but luckily that doesn’t really affect either of us.
This ride makes you feel like you’re part of the wizarding world which is just so cool, even if you’re not really a Harry Potter fan. Maybe I’m looking at it with tinted glasses but I didn’t really notice the screens all that much either, especially not as much as I did in Escape from Gringotts over at the Universal Studios. Overall, a 10 out of 10 every time.
#2 The Incredible Hulk Coaster
The best coaster in the world in my view. I love the theming and the brilliant queue that builds up your anticipation of the ride wonderfully.
The launch is packs a powerful punch and we both came off feeling wobbly – but that’s what a good coaster should do. We managed to get a ride on this when it was raining and almost dark, right before park close, and it was on another level. If you manage to do the same, don’t hesitate – just a brilliant, unforgettable experience.
#3 The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man
I’m sorry to admit that I’m not really a Spider-Man fan, it’s Batman all the way for me. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t dislike Spider-Man. I think the films are ok (even enjoyable) but I’m just not a Spider-Man guy.
I AM a Spider-Man ride guy though as this attraction absolutely blew my Batman-loving socks off! The 3d in here is incredible and the way Spider-Man interacts with you throughout the journey is great. The villains are awesome and the motions of the car are spectacular. Simply a must-do ride that will leave you wanting more and more.
I’m fed up of saying Spider-Man now, so I’m off to get in my Batman Onesie! I hope you enjoyed my three best rides at Islands of Adventure.
