We may have mentioned (a million times if you follow us over on Twitter) that we’re well and truly suffering from the Disney blues, so I thought it might be nice to take a look ahead for this weeks’ Thursday Three.
Although there aren’t any visits to the mouse on the horizon, we do have plenty to look forward to as 2018 closes and 2019 begins.
Here’s what we’ll be up too, and what you can expect to read content about here on the blog…
1. Centre Parcs
We’re heading to the Whinfell Forest Centre Parcs at the end of November with my mum, nana, brother, sister in law and nephew.
We last went here a few years ago with some friends and absolutely loved it, so we were thrilled when our family decided to go for a little four-day break away together. The whole place will be decked out for Christmas and with a one year old in the party, I think it will really put us in the festive spirit.
Although Centre Parcs is pretty pricey for a weekend break in the UK, it’s such a great place to go to wind down and get away from it all. I plan to have a little digital detox while we’re there to really savour spending that time away with my family.
We’ve pre-booked some activities and meals already and we’re really looking forward to sharing some Centre Parcs themed content with you here on the blog.
2. Barcelona and Benidorm
In May we’re heading off to Barcelona (Charl) and Benidorm (Carl) for the hen and stag dos of some of our very best friends.
I can’t wait to see Barcelona. It’s a place I’ve wanted to visit for so long and I’m sure is somewhere I’ll end up falling in love with. I’ve never been on a hen party outside of the UK either so it’s something I’m really excited to experience.
I’m not sure the stags are heading to Benidorm for the architecture, but as a fan of the TV show, I know Carl can’t wait to see if it lives up to its not-so-savoury reputation.
Most of all, we’re both just really excited to be celebrating such an amazing time in the lives of two people we love to death.
3. UK theme parks
We’re already in the planning stages of a couple of little breaks away with Chris and Sarah. The first up is likely to be Blackpool in the early months of the season, with a possible trip to Alton Towers later in the year.
Sarah has never been to Blackpool, so we’re pretty excited to see what she thinks of it. We love it, but we’re not blind to its faults and it will be interesting to see if someone who hasn’t grown up being dragged to Blackpool every summer (Sarah is from Ireland) thinks of it. Are we blinded by nostalgia? We’ll soon see!
We also plan to visit some of the parks in the UK that we haven’t done before: Lightwater Valley (for Charl), Fantasy Island, Chessington, Oakwood (for Carl) – there is so much to explore right here at home, and we can’t wait to see more of what the UK has to offer.
